Please hit "download" for the REAL fullview, you can't well see the textures on normal DA full view. No, it's not Ghost Rider. I drew this MONTHS ago and just now finished coloring and texturing. I'm currently working on a background for it. He's inspired by that old song "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and since none of you actually know that song, here goes nothing: An old cowpoke went ridin' out one dark and windy day, Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw A plowin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw.
Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost herd in the sky
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky He saw the riders coming hard... and he heard their mournful cry
Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky.
Their face is gaunt their eyes were blurred their shirts all soaked with sweat They're ridin' hard to catch that herd but they 'aint caught 'em yet 'cause they've got to ride forever in the range up in the sky On horses snorting fire as they ride hard hear them cry
Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky.
The riders leaned on by him he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from hell a riding on our range Then cow-boy change your ways today or with us you will ride Tryin' to catch this devil herd.... a-cross these endless skies.
Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky. Ghost riders in the sky. Ghost riders in the sky.
EDIT: I darkened and improved the coat. I wasn't happy with that shoppy looking shading, so I looked at real worn black leather versus the image. I've found that black garments are BLACK. I usually draw them as gray so the shading stands out more. But whatever, here he is.
I now that song!!!! I love it!!! sung by the outlaws (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Weylin Jennings, George Straight, ect...) I have a pcture I started about.... 2 or 3 years ago? Thats supposed to go with that song too ^^
Awesome!!! Yeah, I personally like the classic Johnny Cash version myself. I think this picture might look a little too Marvel comics Ghost Riderish, but I didn't use it as a reference.

Johnny Cash is one of my #1 all time favorite country/rock singers ^^ Though Big n' Riches song 'Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy' took them to that spot too I like country!!! *goes off singing Man in Black'
I refuse to call Johnny Cash country. He's western. Country is like rodeos and ranches.. Western is like cowboys and outlaws and dirtiness.

No, no. They're not the same. For example, Tom Petty is considered Western. But is he country? HELL no. They might play Free Falling on the country station every now and then, but for the most part, he's just western rock. Example: He made a rock song about two old west gun slingers. This is a western rock song, not a country song. Western defines the subject matter, country defines the style. Two Gunslingers is a rock style song with old west as it's subject matter. If Petty rocked about an acid trip, that's a rock style song about a rock theme. It's weird... but it makes sense.

oh my gods this was submitted in June and I'm just now getting around to commenting. WHAT. IS. WRONG WITH ME. Ack, but seriously, this is fantastic. I especially love the texturing job done to the guy's coat, vest and overall also, great anatomy with the skeleton horse. Many people find that challenging to do for some reason. Good thing you overcame that

THANK YOU! As it is, I had a ton of different references for the horse skeleton. I've got a new method of drawing human skulls that I used on this pic and it turned out fairly well. The lineart was tough to clean and I don't want to steal anything from Ghost Rider, but ultimately, I think this was a success.
